Since  the last 24 hours, Sanjay Dutt is staying in the most basic of conditions. He has no mattress to sleep on, no home-cooked food or even a fan to cool his cell in Yerawada prison in Pune. For Dutt, who has travelled in fancy cars, slept on soft mattresses and air conditioned rooms, life has become very difficult. Yes, he has done this before but he was not in his 50s at the time, and he didn’t have back and health problems.

Dutt’s close friend and producer Bunty Walia says, “Mana bhabhi (Dutt’s wife Manaayata) is allowed to meet Sanju only once a month. So can Priya didi (Dutt Roncon) and Bunty bhaiya (Kumar Gaurav). He’s allowed two visits in a month from his family. Nobody else is allowed to meet him. So all his friends communicate our love and best wishes through Mana bhabhi.”

He further adds, “We have been told by Mana bhabhi that Sanju is making paper bags in the jail and gets paid for that. Sanju has always been a fighter. We are both from The Lawrence School, Sanawar. The motto of the school is ‘Never give in!’ Though boarding school is not as tough as jail but they also have strict rules and regulations and Sanju will be able to go through this ordeal as he’s a true Sanwarian.

Bunty gets emotional, “Sanju is like an elder brother to me. We would spend so much time together on his sets or at his home. Now when I go to his home, I feel a vacuum.”
