On Friday evening, producer Boney Kapoor threw an impromptu bash at his residence in honour of his actor wife Sridevi’s recent success on-screen. The party saw everyone pop some champagne bottles and let their hair down.
Sridevi has just returned after receiving rave reviews and a standing ovation for her performance in the film English Vinglish at the recently concluded Toronto International Film Festival. She was even accompanied by her two daughters and hubby Boney at the red carpet. The response was so overwhelming that Boney immediately thought of a celebration back home. A source informs, “After the successful outing in Toronto, Boney decided to throw a surprise bash for Sridevi, inviting his friends and other family members also, once they got back to Mumbai. It was a grand party where all the close family members caught up with each other and had a gala time away from their hectic schedules.”
English Vinglish is a very special film for Sridevi, as she has made her comeback with the film. Though the actor was extremely nervous, she was also overwhelmed with the great response she got in a foreign land. Now she is busy promoting the film, but can’t wait for it’s release on the desi turf. sayantan.dalal@dnaindia.net
