While shooting for a film, Nargis Fakhri had a wild encounter that left her quite rattled. The actress was shooting for John Abraham’s Madras Cafe in the deep forests near Antripally falls. These jungles, near Kochi, are known for their wildlife, and the forests too are said to be infested with snakes. In fact, the cast and crew had been forewarned about the presence of the snakes in the area.

According to sources, the incident occurred post pack-up. “Nargis was in Kochi on a long schedule for Madras Cafe. Since Shoojit Sarcar (director) was keen to shoot at real locations, the cast was to shoot in real jungles. The cast and crew were stayed in the safer sections outside the forest,” reveals a production member. Nargis, who loves to explore new places, would often go hiking around after the shooting. However, the source says that one evening, Nargis happened to wander off into the restricted area of the forest, which is considered dangerous even for locals.

“Though she would often be accompanied by a guide on her treks, one evening she took off on her own and found herself facing a poisonous snake. Luckily, before anything wrong could happen, a few locals spotted her and managed to chase away the snake,” adds the insider. A few of them quickly alerted the forest officials who informed Nargis that she was in unauthorised territory.

“But then they realised that Nargis was unaware of that and a forest guard safely escorted her back to the room.” Though Nargis was unhurt, the incident had left her very shocked, more so, when the forest guards told her that the snake was a poisonous one. “Next day, the crew made sure that she does not go off trekking without a guide at all,” adds the insider.
