The highly-anticipated teaser of Suriya's political drama NGK dropped earlier than expected on Thursday. The makers were supposed to release the teaser at 6 PM, but since the teaser was leaked by miscreants last night, Suriya officially unveiled it Thursday morning. NGK teaser features a fiery, intense-looking Suriya as a politician named Nandha Gopalan Kumaran.

NGK marks the first-time collaboration between Suriya and Selvaraghavan, one of the most admired contemporary filmmakers in Tamil cinema. As expected, the teaser sets up a different mood and atmosphere for a Suriya film. In fact, Selvaraghavan has also broken the usual format of a film teaser, which is habitually confined to slo-mo shots of heroes. NGK teaser features a good dialogue from Sai Pallavi, who plays one of the female leads alongside Rakul Preet, who also gets a blink-and-you-miss shot in the beginning.

It looks like Sai Pallavi will definitely have a meaty role in the film, which has Suriya playing the titular character Nandha Gopalan Kumaran, a political leader who heads the party called Kaakum Munnetra Kazhagam. The biggest highlight of the teaser is Yuvan Shankar Raja's excellent background score, which really sets the screen on fire.

Produced by Prabhu SR's Dream Warrior Pictures, NGK also features Jagapathi Babu, Mansoor Ali Khan, Bala Singh, Ponvannan, Thalaivasal Vijay, and Murali Sharma in important roles. Sivakumar Vijayan, best known for cranking the camera in films such as Iraivi and Kolamaavu Kokila, has handled the cinematography. National award-winning technician Praveen KL has worked on the film's editing. NGK is likely to hit screens in the first week of April.
