Neil Nitin Mukesh is back home!

Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh has been jet-setting to various parts of the country for the past few months, thanks to his shooting schedules. The actor was first shooting in the Masaimara jungles in Kenya for a month, followed by a long shooting schedule in Fiji. After that he was in Mumbai for a couple of days following which he left for Ooty to shoot for filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar’s David. The Ireland schedule of the film started early this month and now the actor is back in Mumbai, just in time to celebrate his most favourite festival – Ganesh Chaturthi.

Neil and his family have been bringing the Ganesh idol home for more than a decade now. The family keeps the idol for 10 days and each year, Neil makes it a point to be home to oversee all the decorations personally. Talking about it he says, “I always make it a point to take a break from all my professional commitments to be home for all the ten days. I love celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi each year. It is my favourite time of the year when everyone in my family gets together from various parts of the world. All my friends come over and we all have a ball of a time.”

A source close to the actor says, “Neil is slightly upset that he wasn’t there for the entire process of selecting the idol and decorating the pandal. But he is also glad that he has wrapped up the schedule in time for the festival. It was a great trip because his father was also there, giving him company for a few days. But after his father left, Neil too wanted to come back home and now he is finally glad that he is home, all set to welcome Ganesha home.”
