The winners of the 64th National Film Awards have been announced. Chairperson Priyadarshan and members of the jury addressed the media on Friday, announcing the winners in different categories.

While last year, Bollywood had a clean sweep with Amitabh Bachchan and Kangana Ranaut winning the coveted honours, this year, regional cinema too has found its place.

Best Hindi Film: Ram Madhvani's Neerja

Best Feature Film: Kaasav (Marathi)

Best Special effects: Shivaay

Best Editing: Marathi film Ventilator

Best Actor: Akshay Kumar for Rustom

Best Actress: Surbhi for Minaminungu (Malayalam film)

Best Supporting Actress: Zaira Wasim for Dangal

Best film on social issue: Pink.

Best child film: Dhanak

Best Productions design: Tamil film 24

Special mentions: Feature films - Karwi Hawa, Mukti Bhawan and actors - Adil Hussain for 3 films and Sonam Kapoor for Neerja
