He readily agreed to be an ambassador for a small film, Kya Yahi Sach Hai that has taken up the cudgels against corruption. The movie has been made by former Deputy Commissioner of Police, YP Singh and co-produced by his wife, Director General of Postal Services of Maharashtra and Goa, Abha Singh.

“I will support any cause that tries to end corruption. I thought that this film is an honest effort to promote a cause that every Indian must support,” said Dhoni  before leaving for the cricket tour abroad.

According to Dhoni, he specifically decided to support the film because it highlights the struggles of an honest IPS officer right from his first posting. “It happens with us cricketers too. It’s only when we play for India, that our lives are noticed. But nobody really knows about our struggles. The film dwells on that aspect, the struggle of an officer and his family.”

He also added, “When we see these struggles, we are reminded of our own struggles. I will always support these endeavours. For me, it’s not a film, it’s a cause,” says the Team Indian cricket captain.

Since Dhoni has taken up the cause for the cops, did he have any unpleasant experience like everybody else? “I’ve been lucky. I didn’t have any unpleasant experience so far,” he said.
