Says a source, “Mohit has never discussed money with the Bhatts. But after the stupendous success of Aashiqui 2 that he directed for them, it was only considered appropriate that he get paid for his work.”

“Mohit recently had a baby and needed a larger house. The Bhatts offered to pay for his new home. However, as the shooting progressed, the promised installments for Mohit’s new home did not come,” says a friend of the director.

Apparently, Mohit who has been a loyal soldier at Vishesh Films all these years felt “betrayed” and “let down” when the promised money didn’t materialise.

“Mohit is not the first artiste at Vishesh films to be denied his dues. It is a norm over there. And lack of payment usually doesn’t sour the Bhatts’ relations with their artistes because everyone knows what they’re getting into and what they will eventually get out of it,” says a source.
