Mohanlal took to his Twitter page and wished 'Drishyam' co-star Meena on her 46th birthday.
South actor Meena is celebrating her birthday on September 16 and has turned 46 this year. The actor has been a part of all South languages and is continuing in doing so. Now, on the occasion of Meena's birthday, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal took to his Twitter page and wished the actor. Moreover, he also announced that she will be reprising her role as Rani George opposite him in the sequel to their 2013 hit film, Drishyam.
Mohanlal posted a throwback photo of Meena in which she is seen wearing a red printed saree and a purple blouse and matching bangles. She is seen smiling sweetly for the camera on the sets of a movie. The Lucifer actor captioned the post by tweeting, "Happy Birthday Meena and Welcoming you to the sets of #Drishyam2 #HappyBirthdayMeena".

It was on his 60th birthday, Mohanlal shared a teaser announcing Drishyam 2. In the teaser, we see a glimpse of the uneven land, which indicates where Mohanlal's character George Kutty had hidden the body of Varun, which later on was known to be the place where a police station was built. The teaser also has a caricature of Mohanlal's character holding a shovel as shown in the climax of the first instalment.

Director Jeethu Joseph who directed Drishyam will also be helming the sequel. Talking about the reaction he received, the filmmaker had said, "Frankly, I am surprised by some of the reactions to the news, though I must concede I expected such mixed reactions. Let me make it clear that I can’t write a sequel for such an overpowering film like Drishyam in such a short span. It has been brewing in my mind for a long time, say four-five years, and my initial decision was not to go ahead. I almost dropped the plan though the idea always lingered."
