Mohd Rafi's son Shahid Rafi has slammed Karan for using a dialogue in ADHM that he found insulting to his father. While those who've watched the movie are digging in the dialogues of the film, which are in line with how the youth speaks today, Shahid found a dialogue in the film to be offensive.

In the movie when Ranbir tells Anushka that he wants to pursue singing and that people equate his singing with that of Mohd. rahi, Anushka quickly says that Mohd Rafi dind't sing, he used to cry.

As per a repot on BollywoodLife, on this, Shahid said, "This is so insulting. I am ashamed of Karan Johar. I didn’t expect this from him at all. My dad has sung songs for Karan’s father (Yash Johar) and this is what he has done now. I haven’t seen the film yet. Whoever has written this dialogue is an idiot. He doesn’t know who Rafi saab was. He was the most versatile singer. How can he write such crap about a legendary singer?”

He further added that since the damage has already been done as many people have watched the film and Karan won't edit that part, so he expects a letter of apology from Karan. For those who are caught unaware, the late singer had worked with Karan's father Yash Johar in the 1980 movie Dostana and he even sang the famous 'Salamat rahe dostana hamara'
