Actor Mark Ruffalo is still in the dark about whether he will join his Avengers co-stars in Captain America: Civil War, but he's more than willing to show up.

The 47-year-old actor fuelled rumours that The Hulk could make an appearance in directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo's 2016 movie by tweeting a title card for the movie in May, reported Daily Beast.

Ruffalo revealed that he actually has no idea if he'll be needed now that production is underway.

"I heard a rumour about that movie the other day. I haven't seen a script, nobody's told me, and I don't have dates. But I can only hope so!" Ruffalo said.

The actor went on to say: "I was talking to Robert Downey the other day, and he said, 'Ruffalo! I heard you're coming out here', and I said, 'OK! I'll be there'."

It is known that William Hurt has agreed to reprise his role as The Hulk's notorious enemy General Thunderbolt Ross in Captain America: Civil War.
