According to Mid-day report, an 18 member team of CBFC had travelled to Thiruvanathapuram to view Malayalam film Ka Bodyscapes, after Nihalani refused to certify it for several months. Kerala High Court had to issue a notice against him. This was the fourth review for the Board in last one year.

'Ka Bodyscapes' director Jayan Cherian said, "Nihalani and CBFC are being unreasonable. They don't want my film 'Ka Bodyscapes' to release. The members who watched the film last Friday are divided over their opinion. Nine members have agreed to pass the film, but the rest are against it" Cherian said the CBFC attorney requested the court to give them two weeks time to make the final decision and provide an explanation for the delay.

'Ka Bodyscapes' is a film based on two men and a series of events in Kerala which shook it conservative mind sets, and prompted closeted gays to come out in support of it. Cherian lamented after court decided the next hearing for August 16."The Board is trying to mute dissenting opinion of artistes."
