Maker of 'Aankhen 2' furious with Ileana D'Cruz
Says she had agreed to be part of the sequel, but is now denying it
The sequel of Aankhen which was announced on Wednesday is already courting controversies. At the launch event the makers revealed the cast of the film that included Amitabh Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Anil Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Ileana D’Cruz and South actress Regina Cassandra who makes her Bollywood debut with the film. However, Ileana who was not present at the event later clarified that she had not signed Aankhen 2 and the makers had used her name without her permission. There were also threats of legal notice from the actress’ manager against the makers.
Now, a tabloid reports producer Gaurang Doshi saying, if they wanted an actor’s name they would have used Katrina. He is quoted saying that he along with writer Neeraj Pathak and director Aneez Bazmee had met Ileana, who had loved the script and agreed to be a part of the film. “Ileana said she’d really enjoyed the music and was ready for the mahurat shot. We informed her about the launch and she agreed to be a part of it,” he is quoted saying. He further adds that he is not aware what went wrong and is trying to speak to her and in the meantime will look for another actress.
