GST anti-evasion team found several multiplexes including Mahesh Babu’s AMB Cinemas to have flouted the norms. Notices have been sent to them for not having reduced the ticket prices.

Interestingly, for Mahesh Babu, it was only recently that he was in soup for having allegedly avoided paying taxes to the tune of Rs 18.5 lakh. However,  the actor cleared the air with his legal team even sending a notice to the GST Commissioner.

And now, his multiplex has again brought him into focus because of flouting norms. Apparently, his team has been sent a notice for having violated the anti-profiteering clause in the CGST act while being to deposit the entire amount that was illegally earned to the consumer welfare fund.

While the ticket prices will be revised from February 22, Mahesh Babu surely must not be happy about being pulled into a tax related issue just a little while after he managed to solve the previous instance.
