Currently, the shoot is going on at a brisk pace in Umargaon in Gujarat but in the later half of this month, few actors will fly to Kashmir. “It will be shot in Pehlgam and a few other prominent locations. Kashmir has been chosen because the era of Mahabharat was considered heaven on earth and no other place can provide a lush green valley with snowcapped mountains,” informs a source.

Actress Sayanti Ghosh who plays Satyavati, Sameer Dharmadikari who essays King Shantanu and a few other actors are said to be going for the shoot. In fact, Sameer in the last interview had confessed that shooting in Kashmir was one of the major attractions for him to do the series besides playing Shantanu.

Incidentally, the last major serial to be shot in the valley was Gul Gulshan Gulfam way back in the early '90s. A telefilm was also shot there last year but this will be the first big serial to be shot there in two decades.
