Lalit Pandit (of Jatin-Lalit fame) has created an inspirational song Hum Honge Kaamyaab for the upcoming film I Am Banni. For this, he has roped in Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ wife Amruta Fadnavis, Vaishali Samant, Kanika Kapoor, Shibani Kashyap, Akriti Kakar and other playback singers, along with Shaan. The Bollywood music director-composer talks about the same.

The idea behind the song

I always wanted to do a song on women’s empowerment and the story of I Am Banni is about the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative. Composing this song was an inspiring moment for me. I’m certain that it will motivate all the women who want to move ahead in their lives.

About bringing eight singers together

It is a women’s anthem and I thought it’d be a good idea to bring all young female singers like Vaishali, Akriti, Kanika, etc to contribute for the song along with Amruta Fadnavis. The track is more touching when a woman talks about her dream of confidently moving ahead to achieve her goals alongside men. All the singers were excited when they heard the melody. It has been beautifully written by Alok Jha.

How the song has turned out

The number has the desired meaning. It’s modern yet soulful and will touch your heart. I’m satisfied with the way it has turned out.
