Apart from Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kushi also stars Jayaram, Sachin Khedekar, Murali Sharma, Lakshmi, Ali, Rohini, Vennela Kishore, and Rahul Ramakrishna in pivotal roles.
Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's romantic drama Kushi has finally been released in the theatres on Friday, September 1. The film has opened to positive reviews from critics and audiences, and is being called as Vijay's comeback as his last film Liger proved to be a commercial and critical failure.
Moviegoers who have seen Kushi on its first day of theatrical release have shared their reviews on the micro-blogging platform X (previously known as Twitter), calling Vijay and Samantha-starrer "a magical love story". One post on X read, "Finally watched Kushi, a magical love story! Great comeback by Vijay Deverakonda", while another netizen wrote, "Good 1st Half, Super 2nd Half, VD & Sam lived in their character, Songs & BGM wow, Excellent Story, Cinematography & Editing too good".
"Beneath the hijinks of mainstream humour, multiple tributes & some strictly okay-ish music, #Kushi is a warm, sincere and wholesome tale of the triumph of love over differences. Much needed win for VD, Sam and Shiva Nirvana. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the film", read another post. Another netizen wrote, "It's good to see #VijayDeverakonda as the boy next door again. He has effortlessly slipped into the shoes of Viplav in #Kushi and also carried the film all through even in it's low points. Music director Hesham is the hero behind the screen."

After a neat first half, Kushi too suffered a cliched second half syndrome. Still, it makes a nice one time watch because of pleasant music and visuals. pic.twitter.com/vwRwOnzIFv
Kushi is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and helmed by Shiva Nirvana who has previously directed three films - romantic comedy Ninnu Kori starring Nani, Nivetha Thomas, and Aadhi Pinisetty, romantic sports drama Majili starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu with her ex-husband Naga Chaitanya, and action drama Tuck Jagadish starring Nani and Ritu Verma.
The romantic drama also stars Jayaram, Sachin Khedekar, Murali Sharma, Lakshmi, Ali, Rohini, Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna, Srikanth Iyengar, and Saranya in pivotal roles. Hesham Abdul Wahab of Hridayam fame has composed the soundtrack of the film.
