Kirron Kher may be busy with politics and the occasional films, but continues to judge a talent hunt that she has been a part of for four seasons.
All the judges on India’s Got Talent have changed through the four season, but Kirron Kher has been constant. Kirron, who has been part of the show since its inception, loves it because unlike the regular song and dance shows, this one brings to fore various talents. “Most importantly, the participants come from small towns and rural India. It is heartening to see so much talent,” says Kirron, who was amazed by the performance of folk singer Jamilabai from Jaipur. Anything to do with culture and small town India get a thumbs-up from the actor while the daredevil acts scare her. She usually hides behind her pallu during those acts. “I don’t understand why they want to do dangerous stunts for their five minutes of fame,” she wonders.
Apart from the TV show, Kirron is busy with politics and films are something that she does occasionally. “I am doing one film in two years now as politics consumes me,” she says. When asked if she would ever participate in a dance reality show, Kirron who has learnt Kathak says that she does not want to be a part of such shows. She prefers doing theatre instead which she says emobodies all the arts.
Talking about her son Sikander Kher’s checkered career, the veteran actor says that right now he may be going through a low but “hopefully better things are in store. Failure is a personal thing but it’s better to experience it in the beginning itself because you learn to handle it”.
