Superstar Yash, who is most remembered for his role in the recently released film KGF, turned 33 on Tuesday but rather than celebrating, the day became a mourning day for him for two reasons. Yash had revealed on social media that he would not celebrate his birthday this year since a senior member of his family, Dr Ambarish passed away recently. Despite this, the superstar also ended up losing a fan, as this fan gave up on his life in front of Yash’s residence by setting himself on fire.

This upset the fan since he had previously met the superstar every year on his birthday. Thus, eventually, Ravi poured petrol and set himself on fire. Noticing this, the locals tried to save him from the burns by covering him from blanket. They also took him to Victoria Hospital, but not before it was too late.
Ravi suffered 70 percent burns and even when battling for life, he asked the doctors whether his superstar would come to see him. Dr KT Ramesh, HOD of burns ward had revealed that he was on oxygen support and also said, "When we were dressing his wounds, Ravi asked the doctors whether Yash would come to see him, now that he was struggling between life and death."
While visiting the hospital, Yash had taken a strong stand and said, “He has clicked selfies with me on my birthday. I’m sorry to say but this is not fandom and I don’t believe he can be a fan. I request my fans to never take such drastic steps. A few days before my birthday, I had put out a video saying I am not celebrating my birthday this year. This is very hurtful."
