Director R S Vimal rubbished Narayan's claims.
The Kerala State Film Awards were announced on Tuesday and a controversy has erupted soon after. Music director Ramesh Narayan has accused actor Prithviraj of trying to keep his songs out of the award-winning film Ennu Ninte Moideen. Narayan bagged the Best Music Director Award for composing the nostalgic ‘Saradambaram’ song this film.
The Malayalam Manorama reports that Narayan said Prithviraj did not want the songs to be included in the film. He was quoted as saying that the actor felt it only added an 'academic dimension'. Narayan said that the state award proves that God exists.
Director RS Vimal reportedly did not pay heed to Prithviraj's objections and made the songs part of the film, Narayan added. Prithviraj was also reportedly unhappy with the fact that P Jayachandran sang a song in the film. Narayan says he insisted that the singer be part of the project. Jayanchandran also won a state award for the song.
Narayan also told the daily that he was one of the producers on the film but he was not given title credits.
When director RS Vimal was contacted by the daily, he reportedly told them that Narayan's statements didn't need a response and that he didn't want to react to 'cheap and illogical allegations'.
