The Hindu reports that the comedian stated in his complaint that Darshan's brother Dinakar Toogudeepa had threatened him in front of his daughter. Bullet Prakash had reportedly discussed a film with Darshan without Dinakar's knowledge and this had angered him. Dinakar told the comedian that he would ensure that he doesn't get Darshan's dates for the film.

Bullet Prakash told media that his daughter was witness to Dinakar's threats. He added that since Dinakar could go to any level, he needed police protection.

Apparently, the comedian and Darshan are close friends since they have acted together in quite a few films. But when Bullet Prakash announced the movie with Darshan, Dinakar did not approve of it. Earlier in 2011, Darshan was sent to jail for allegedly assaulting his wife. The couple later got back together.
