1) Kar Gayi Chull (Kapoor & Sons)

Kar Gayi Chull can safely be termed as the first party song of the year. This peppy dance number has a very easy and loungy vibe to it and it soon became the life of all the house parties and night clubs.

2) Kala Chashma (Baar Baar Dekho) 

It won't be an understatement to call it the ultimate party anthem of the year. Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra's killer moves have set the standards very high. The song's popularity even reached overseas when it was played at the Olympics when India scored at one of the events.

3) Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (Title Track ADHM)

The title track of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has become synonymous with unrequited love. The way Ranbir Kapoor nails it with his gaze and hold at the camera for about the initial 20 seconds of the song, is unnerving. This beautifully sung number has been on loop of the playlists of millions since the day it was released.

4) Channa Mereya (ADHM) 

Is the title track of ADHM became synonymous with unrequited love, then Channa Mereya hands down became the epitome of heartbreak. It is undoubtedly the heartbreak song of the year. Though few didn't like it much when it was released, Channa Mereya started topping the charts after the release of the movie. What's more, even Chris Martin couldn't help but croon the words "Channa Mereya" at the Global Citizen Festival India.

5) Kaun Tujhe (MS Dhoni: The Untold Story)

Kaun Tujhe is a beautifully crooned soft romantic number. It became immensely popular owing to the portrayal of the tragic death of the former girlfriend of Dhoni. Nevertheless, it's an extremely soothing and equally melodious song.

Another heartwarming track that speaks volumes about love and companionship. This song has won a number of hearts owing to its minimalist yet meaningful lyrics and enchanting music. Definitely one of the best romantic numbers that we had this year.

7) Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai (Sultan)

This song can best be described as the wedding song of the year. Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai has Salman Khan gate crashing a wedding and doing all sorts of tricks to win over his lady love. Later on, Salman even release another version of the song that he has crooned with Iulia Vantur.

8) Love You Zindagi (Title Track, Dear Zindagi)

Dear Zindagi title track gathered instant popularity owing to its easy breezy vibe. This song aptly summed up the slice of life film and urged us to live every moment to its fullest, without any regrets, embrace life in all its colours and not be hesitant in doing what our heart desires.

9) Sau Tarah Ke (Dishoom)

Sau Tarah Ke became an instant hit owing to the vibe of the song and Jacqueline's sizzling dance moves. This high on energy track also found it's place in the popular playlists.
