Kailash Kher brings musical relief to Games; to release song

Amid all the grief and shame the Commonwealth Games are bringing upon the country, singer Kailash Kher will bring some musical relief to Indian ears. The Teri Deewani singer will release a song for the Games on October 1, two days ahead of the main event. Fans can listen to the song, Yaaron aao jashn manao, mere sang nacho gao, on radio channels from September 28.
“It is a very high-energy, groovy and lively track aimed at boosting the confidence and spirit of athletes participating in the Games," said Kher, whose band Kailasa will perform at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games. "It will serve the purpose of inspiring sportsmanship in them.”
The song will be released online on websites like artistallowed.com, bollywoodhungama.com, itunes.com and amazon.com. “The track is ready. The final mixing will be done in a couple of days and then we’re good to go,” said Kher.
The singer also plans to release a video for the song, which is expected to be out during the Games. "But right now we are releasing only the song,” he said.
Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman has also released a Commonwealth Games theme song Jiyo Utho Badho Jeeto, which has received mixed response. “Not every song can be a super hit," said Kher in Rahman's defence. "I think Rahman is the best musician we have. He is human, not a factory. Music is a product of human emotions. Some like it, some don’t, it’s a natural process.”
Kailasa has been busy touring the world and has just finished a concert in Australia. “We released an album in USA, including two new tracks which will be released in India in a couple of months." Indians fans will have to wait another few months for a brand new Kailasa album.
At the Commonwealth Games, Kailasa will perform Yaaron Aao Jashn Manao as well as hits from their previous albums Kailasa (2006), Jhoomo Re (2007) and Chaandan Mein (2009).
