The 79-year-old, who has seen the movie six times, all the way through, said that when the real Maria von Trapp came on the set in Salzburg, she was very generous and told the actress that she was very glad because she was playing her like a tomboy, because that's the way she actually was, the New York Post reported.

The English actress further mentioned that Christopher Plummer was a very good kisser and it was never difficult to work with him, as they both adored each other from the very first day of meeting and have stayed friends ever since.

Andrews continued that there should be other interpretations of the movie and 50 years later people should not be denied the chance to make an iconic piece.
