JK Rowling wishes Hermione Granger a very happy birthday!

Best-selling author JK Rowling on Saturday took to Twitter to wish the smartest witch in the world, on her 36th birthday.

Working for the cause of better treatment of house-elves at the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Hermione Jean Granger, turned 36 today. Married to Ron Weasley, she is mother to a daughter Rose, and a son Hugo.

Hermione is also godmother to Harry and Ginny Potter's eldest son James, who has just started his education at Hogwarts.

The Harry Potter series creator JK Rowling wished her on Twitter, saying she missed writing her.

Emma Watson portrayed the character of Ms Granger on the silver screen.

Rowling's fans soon joined in on twitter, telling the author that there was a simple way to not miss writing for Ms Granger!
