Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson will be returning to the stage to perform at the 87th Academy awards.

The Oscars, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, will air on Sunday, February 22.

"We're creating several musical sequences for the Oscars and we couldn't be happier that our friend, Jennifer Hudson, will be performing in one of them," Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a statement.

Hudson won the Oscar in the best supporting actress category for her 2006 film Dreamgirls. Her other acting credits include Sex and the City, The Secret Life of Bees and Winnie Mandela.

Hudson's self-titled debut album won the 2008 Grammy Award for Best R&B Album.
