The members of the film fraternity, including Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar, Rakesh Roshan, Producers Guild of India President Siddharth Roy Kapur and the Censor Board chief Prasoon Joshi among others, reportedly discussed lower and uniform rates of GST for the entertainment industry.

Soon after the meeting, PM's official twitter handle sent out a tweet which gave out details about the discussion, along with a photo from the meeting.

The tweet read, “Had an extensive and fruitful interaction with a delegation from the film and entertainment industry. The delegation spoke about the strides being made by the film and entertainment industry, and gave valuable inputs relating to GST for their sector.”

“Happy to see the passion among members of the film and entertainment industry towards the development of India. They talked at length about ways to further Mumbai’s   development, particularly with regard to making it a global hub for entertainment,” added the tweet.

On this, Lipstick Under My Burkha filmmaker Alankrita Shrivastava reacted with a retweet which pointed out that there wasn't a single woman in the delegation.

She wrote, “Would be great to have female representation in these delegations. It is 2018.”

Filmmaker Nikkhil Advani, too, felt the same and hence, retweeted Alankrita's post.

At the outset, filmmaker-producer Karan Johar who was present at the meeting, took to his Instagram and shared a picture along with a caption which reads, "It was enlightening to hear the honourable Prime Minsiter @narendramodi share his views on our Industry’s soft power status and the strength of our cinema...he gave our media and entertainment representatives a patient and solid hearing....thank you Sir!!"

Akshay Kumar to posted a picture.

It is captioned, "Heartfelt thank you to the honorable Prime Minister @narendramodi ji for taking out time to hear us at length, discuss issues pertaining to our industry and assuring positive consideration of suggestions."

For the uninitiated, the meeting marked the second meeting in the year after a delegation had met PM Modi in the captial in October.
