Indrajeet Singh Bhatia, the lawyer of petitioner Rushi Kumar Sharma, told reporters here that Sessions Judge A K Taylor refused to stay the release on the ground that Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had duly given clearance to the film and the court should not interfere in the matter.

Sharma had alleged that the film's title and some scenes in its trailer hurt religious sentiments of Hindus. Earlier, he had moved the magistrate's court seeking a stay to the release but that court had dismissed the application. The Sessions Court also rejected Sharma's demand that police be directed to conduct an investigation against the producers under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code.
