Academy Award-nominated star Juanita Moore of ‘Imitation of Life’ fame has passed away. She was 99.

Moore, who became the fifth African-American Oscar nominee after she played a housekeeper in the 1959 drama, died at her LA home on New Year’s Day, Contactmusic reported.

Moore’s other works include Disney’s ‘The Kid’ and TV shows like ‘Dragnet’ and ‘Judging Amy’.
