If there was no stuntman, there would be no hero: Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar has launched an insurance scheme for stunt artistes in Bollywood in collaboration with cardiac surgeon Dr Ramakanta Panda. In case of a physical injury or accident on set, the stuntman will be provided an amount of Rs 6 lakh and in case of death the compensation will be Rs 10 lakh.

As per a Mid-Day report, Akshay says, "If there was no stuntman, there would be no hero. When a romantic hero does romance, he is not risking his life, a stunt artiste is." Ejaz Gulab, general secretary of Movie Stunt Artiste Association, added, "We had approached many insurance companies in the past for out members' security, but none co-operated. We are thankful to Akshay for securing our lives."
