I will resume directing soon: Ramesh Aravind

Ramesh Aravind is back in Kollywood with Manmadhan Ambu hitting the screens this Friday. The film, directed by K S Ravikumar, stars Kamal Hassan, Trisha Krishnan, R Madhavan and Sangeetha Krish in the lead roles.

Describing his role in the film, Ramesh says, “I must say that the film has the most-expected combination that everyone looks forward to. As far as my role is concerned, it’s not lengthy but crucial to the film’s plot. Whoever has seen it, says that it has quite an impact and yes, it was pretty tough essaying it too.”

Ask him why he’s missing from  Manmadhan Ambu’s trailers and he can’t stop gushing! “That’s the suspense! As a matter of fact, I’ve been featured in all the promos but my look is such that you just can’t identify me. It was
Kamal who suggested that I perform this role differently and my look was created according to my role,” he says. What’s more exciting is the fact that Ramesh and Kamal are pairing up for the ninth time.

“Oh yes, that’s what people have been talking about. Kamal is a really good friend of mine and has been an inspiration for me throughout. Since we share great comfort levels, we know each other’s strengths and work accordingly. He advises me on experimenting with new roles and has been a constant pillar of support,” he says cheerfully.

Talking about his upcoming Kannada flicks, he says, “Happy Husbands and Rangappa Hogbitna are both ready for release. I’m also doing another film, Maya, where I play the director of a reality show, while Priyasakhi is a musical drama which has Nikita Thukral as the female lead.”

And what about direction or is he planning to give that a break? “In the last one and half years, I’ve done as many as 13 movies. But now, it’s time for me to concentrate on direction and yes, I will start discussions shortly,” he signs off.
