“‘Retirement’ is a word that means that you are giving up the career completely. I am not doing anything like that. This film (Desire where she’ll be seen as a monk) is my last film for now. My last film for the next two-three years,” said Shilpa.

The actress elaborates that  her sabbatical is self-imposed because she wants to concentrate on her ‘other ventures’. “Mine is a self imposed sabbatical to concentrate on my other ventures,” adds Shilpa.

Though she is going to continue modelling for products (ad shoots and promoting the existing products for which she is the brand ambassador), Shilpa says that she will take a call about her career only after three years when she decides to come back as a working woman. “I will definitely take up work, if there is something worthwhile after my break,” says the actor.

Sources close to the actor say that from now on she will be spending more time with her husband and her in-laws and give some quality time to them. Besides, Shilpa apparently has been wanting to slow down the pace of work for sometime now.

“She will be working, but wants to concentrate on her family right now. She wants to also pay attention to the many investments and ventures she’s gotten into recently; it needs her urgent attention,” says a source.
