So how much did Hrithik charge for the film? "50 crores," exclaims a source from the team. At a time when most actors end up with a profit sharing deal on most of their films, Hrithik decided to take a different route with Mohenjo Daro

This is possibly one of the highest remuneration meted out to any of the leading actors off late. Hrithik's Mohenjo Daro is already on floors and will hit theatres next August. High on anticipation, this period love story will be based in the backdrop of the Indus Valley Civilisation.

Previously, Hrithik had delivered a hit film with Ashu - Jodha Akbar - which again was another period film. Although it did remarkably well at the box office, off late, period films haven't quite hit it off at the BO. Will Mohenjo Daro be bigger than Jodha Akbar at the cash registers or will it fizzle out like a Bombay Velvet? That needs to be seen. But nevertheless, if the film doesn't work well, then the producers will definitely regret signing Hrithik with such a huge amount.
