It’s a new journey for filmmaker Karan Johar. He’s a proud single father to two bundles of joy and his film industry colleagues have inundated him with kudos and warm wishes. Also, he’s emerged to be a major inspirational figure for single men itching to embrace fatherhood.

‘It takes courage’ 

Writer Apurva Asrani feels that Karan Johar having twins is beautiful and inspiring news. “He can now say to his kids the three words that really matter — ‘I love you’. I have always desired a child of my own. It takes courage and great resolve to make something like this happen. Karan’s story is inspiring. Considering the new surrogacy laws don’t allow single parents to adopt, he has managed the impossible. He gives hope to genuine single parents who want to raise a child. I am more keen on adopting than surrogacy though. There are many beautiful children in India that don’t have homes or parents.”

‘Single parenthood is fabulous’

Says Onir, “It’s beautiful. Tusshar Kapoor too has attained fatherhood by surrogacy. It’s awesome to be single and yet want to be a parent. I wish Karan beautiful parenting and happiness. I love children. And I love the idea of fatherhood. I am very close to my niece and best friend’s sons. They fill up the space. But if I do take that step, I would adopt a child.”
