Has the script of Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan's 'Thugs Of Hindostan' been changed?

Buzz is that now Vijay Krishna Acharya has changed the script for Thugs Of Hindostan starring Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan. The film was based on the book, Confessions Of A Thug by Philip Meadows Taylor based on the thugs of India in the 19th century.

Now it’s said to be inspired from the 2003 Hollywood flick Matchstick Men, an American black crime comedy. Matchstick Men is about a con artist suffering from severe obsessive compulsive disorder (Nicolas Cage) and his partner and protege Frank Mercer (Sam Rockwell). Thugs Of Hindostan is set for a Diwali release in 2018.
