Has Shahid Kapoor asked for a Rs 6 crore fee to do 'Padmavati'?
Not just a meaty role, Shahid has another big demand from the producers...
Shahid Kapoor is definitely going to play the main lead in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati. While Deepika Padukone plays Rani Padmavati, Shahid will play Rana Rawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh will play their arch nemesis Aluddin Khilji.
Initially, no actor was willing to take Ratan singh's role because everyone felt Ranveer's role will be meatier compared to this one. When Shahid gave a nod to the film, he even asked Sanjay to rework on the script and change the role. Then, his role in the film was increased and although DP will play the biggest role, Shahid and Ranveer's roles will now be almost in equal proportions.
Hang on, that's not the only demand that Shahid made. The actor who usually gets paid in the range of Rs 3 crore for each film has asked for a huge hike in his fee. He wants something around Rs 6 crore which Sanjay has also agreed on. After all, for a film of this grandeur and stature, the production costs are anyway going to be high.
