The 'Faith' hitmaker was reportedly preparing to make his comeback with a central role on the reality TV show after he was spotted in a meeting with The X Factor creator Cowell in November, reports Contactmusic.
But Cowell has brushed away rumours, he said, "(Michael) will not be a judge on the US X Factor," in an interview.
The TV job was expected to mark Michael's return to the spotlight following a series of personal woes, which recently saw him serve time behind bars for driving under the influence of drugs.
