Rashmika Mandanna, who rose to fame through Vijay Deverakonda's sensational blockbuster Geetha Govindam last year, has signed her first film in Tamil. She will be paired opposite Karthi in a yet-untitled project produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures.
After delivering two consecutive blockbusters in Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru and Kadaikutty Singam, which registered more footfalls than Rajinikanth's Kaala last year, Karthi's recent release Dev bit the dust at the box-office. He is currently shooting for an untitled film directed by Maanagaram fame Lokesh Kanagaraj in Chennai.
Tentatively titled K19, Karthi's new film with Rashmika will be directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan of Remo fame. "The process of erecting a grand set work for this film is happening in full swing in Chennai. Apart from Tamil Nadu, the team has planned to shoot some crucial scenes in Hyderabad as well," read a statement. Dream Warrior Pictures assures that the film will be loved by family audiences just as they received Karthi's entertaining movies like Siruthai and Kadaikutty Singam.
Vivek-Mervin duo has been signed to compose music for this film, which will have cinematography handled by Sathyan Sooryan. Jai (Art), Dhilip Subbarayan (Stunts), Rajeevan (Production Designer) and Ruben (Editing) and Aravind Raj Bhaskaran (Executive Producer) are the other technicians onboard. With the initial preparations happening at a brisk pace, the shooting is scheduled to commence from the second week of March.
Producers SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures have been greatly noted for their movies like ‘Joker’, ‘Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru’ and ‘Aruvi’, which have performed well in box office and critically acclaimed as well. Currently, Dream Warrior Pictures is involved in the production of Karthi’s untitled film directed by Maanagaram fame Lokesh Kanagaraj, which will be wrapped up soon.
