Headlined by Ram Charan and helmed by Shankar, the political thriller Game Changer was released worldwide on January 10. The much-awaited film stars Ram Charan in double roles of a father and son, alongside Kiara Advani, Anjali, Samuthirakani, SJ Suryah, Srikanth, Sunil, and Jayaram in pivotal roles.
Game Changer had a strong opening in India and collected Rs 51 crore on its first day. On Saturday, the film saw a drop of more than 50% and earned Rs 21.60 crore, taking its two-day collection to Rs 72.60 crore. As per the early estimates from the entertainment tracking portal Sacnilk, the Shankar directorial collected Rs 16.33 crore on its third day, i.e. Sunday. Thus, Ram Charan film has earned close to Rs 90 crore in its opening week.
Game Changer has crossed the lifetime domestic earnings of Shankar's previous film Indian 2 headlined by Kamal Haasan. The 2024 vigilante action thriller earned Rs 82 crore net in India and grossed Rs 148 crore worldwide. Made in a budget of Rs 250 crore, Indian 2 turned out to be one of the biggest flops in Tamil cinema.
Talking about its worldwide collections, Game Changer has earned Rs 108 crore gross in its first two days. The political thriller marks Shankar's debut in Telugu cinema. Apart from Telugu, the film has also been released in the dubbed version in Hindi and Tamil languages. Dil Raju has produced the movie under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations.
Game Changer will now face competition from Nandamuri Balakrishna-starrer action thriller Daaku Maharaaj, which has hit theatres on January 12. The film has collected Rs 21 crore on its opening day, as per the early estimates. Both the movies will attract huge crowds in the next festive week of Pongal and Sankranti.
