The appointment of Gajendra Chauhan as the new FTII chairman has called for a lot of protests from the FTII students and prominent Bollywood celebrities in general. Ranbir Kapoor has come out in full support of the students and spoken his heart out in a video released by the students' body.

Calling it a 'premier institute of India', Ranbir spoke about Chauhan's appointment and discussed the possible nepotism behind the same. He also tells that an institutional autonomy needs to be followed and there needs to be coordination between the governing council and the students. 

Celebrities like Kiran Rao, Resul Pookutty, Rajat Kapoor, Piyush Mishra had already joined the protest and now it's Ranbir who's lent support to the students.
