In a day and age when nothing goes past the scrutiny of social media, a three year old Facebook post of the actress's mother has become the cause of the recent backlash that Zaira is facing. Apparently, a Netizen scanned the entire Facebook timeline of Zaira and came across some pro-Pakistani posts of her mother from the year 2014. Screenshots of the posts went viral on social media platforms and the Twitterati didn't spare a moment, and started slamming her.

The FB posts were written and shared for an India-Pakistan match that was played in Dhaka during the World T20 championship.

Irked by the messages of her mother Zarqa Wasim, Twitterati started calling her a traitor, asking her to "get lost." Apparently, Zaira's mother's account has been erased, but the screenshots of the messages are still floating on Twitter, enraging the netizens.
