Last month Vidya Balan informed us about the release date of her upcoming film Begum Jaan on her Twiiter handle and now, she has shared the first look poster of the film which is all kinds of badass.

Vidya took to her Twitter account and wrote, "Aa rahi hoon main! #BegumJaanFirstLook @visheshfilms @srijitspeaketh" along side the poster. She can be seen sporting a uni-brow in the poster which has "My Body. My House. My Country. My Rules" written right at the top.

At the bottom, the words "When Freedom Fought Independence…" are imprinted. The movie is apparently, adapted from a Bengali film Rajkahini that had Rituparna Sengupta in the lead. It is reported that the the original film was based in Bengal, while Begum Jaan which is a Hindi adaptation will follow events around the partition of Punjab.

The film is slated to release on April 14.
