What's it about :A timely release , Dekha Tamasha Dekh summarises and takes a satirical look at the current socio political scenario in the country. It's not just the politicians, but the religious leaders and their constant cacophony that the film deals with. A dead body and a debate over what religion the person belonged to serves as a tippng point to present a sometimes serious sometimes comical take on several different issues. There is also a newspaper editor and a cop who act as important characters in bringing the story to its final conclusion.

What's hotThe writing is smart and there is a lot of reading in between the lines to do. Khan does a terrific job of giving us views from both sides of the panel. He never makes an individual judgement or tries to opinionate you, but instead leaves you to decide what part of the arguement you agree with more. Satish Kaushik and Tanvi Azmi are first rate in their roles and totally sink their teeth into the parts with fervor.

What's not The length plays a spoilsport and the editing could have been sharper. Also some of the humor is a bit too far stretched and complexed to enjoy. One needs to be patient and eager to enjoy the diverse elements of the plot. At times some scenes feel like they could have played out better on stage than celluloid.

What to do Dekh Tamasha Dekh is smart, witty and engaging. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
