It has been a while since actress Mannara Chopra was seen on the Telugu screen when she played the female lead in Puri Jagannadh’s Rogue in 2017. And after a long time, it looks like she finally found a film she really wanted to take up, in director Teja’s next titled Sita, that also stars Kajal Aggarwal and Bellamkonda Srinivas and she reveals she’s quite excited about the film. “I generally like to work with good storytellers and I’ve been lucky to have had the opportunity to do so. After Puri sir, working with Teja sir has been a dream,” she reveals.

Having shot for almost 60 days for the film in Bangkok, Hyderabad, and Visakhapatnam, Mannara doesn’t tell us much about the role except, “I have a very different look in the film and the role is something I haven’t done before. Teja sir’s style of work was new for me and I had to unlearn a lot to work with him.”

It’s often said that Teja is a hard taskmaster and that Kajal Aggarwal’s journey in the industry could not have been as tough because she made her debut in his film. Commenting on the same, Mannara shares, “Yes, he is a tough teacher and I think that only makes you better. He’d point out small nuances like how I shouldn’t frown and how I need to sit straight, thereby influencing my day-to-day life as well. I think it’s so amazing to work with people who can change things for you at such a massive level.”

This is Mannara’s fourth Telugu film and she has spent quite some time amidst people who speak this language and it looks like she has managed to get the hang of it. “It was really a tough language for me initially but with time I’ve managed to understand it well. In fact, I even speak in Telugu a bit now,” she gushes.

Shooting in Hyderabad, she reveals is one of her favourite experiences. “I love Hyderabad and I’ve lost my heart to the place. It’s a great experience to be there and I always take back something beautiful. For instance, it was for an ad shoot that I was in Hyderabad when the offer for this film came to me. I was travelling to the US when I had a quick meeting for this film with Teja sir. I didn’t hear from them for almost four months and then one fine day, I was called to begin work. It’s awesome here,” she concludes.
