She hates the fact that even after being in India for a long span and doing varied roles that of a VJ, singer, actor, people look at her as a NRI girl. For VJ-turned-actor Anusha Dandekar, it’s quite surprising when people still feel she suits a NRI character more than other roles. “It’s really weird that we have thousands of firangs perform here on item songs and act. But when people still percieve me as a NRI glam doll, it’s not right. I am very much an Indian. I am here for so long, I don’t feel like I ever was an NRI. A vivacious person with an endearing voice, she is all set to show the world that she’s Better than your Ex — her first ever International debut single. Talking about her tryst with singing and the single she says, “It was in my blood, my mum used to sing for her college band and when I turned seven I too started realising my love for singing and dancing. In fact, in high school I opted for music as a subject rather than the usual science, Math and economics. Post that, my sisters and I have always been performers. So when this offer came to me I was more than happy to do it, I did workshops in New York where I learnt how to control my breath while singing since I am not professionally trained.

Now that I will represent India on an international platform with my voice, I really am super excited,” adds Anusha.

Ask Anusha who she wouldlike to collaborate with internationally, and she instantly replies, “Enrique Iglesias! Not just because he is superbly hot but also because he is very talented and I love his music. Given an opportunity,  I would also love  to work with Nicki Minaj as she is super cool and also Snoop Dogg, Sean Paul, P Diddy or if lucky 50cent.”
