The actor's comment came after a tweet by the author JK Rowling saying Voldemort is "nowhere near as bad" as Trump.

While speaking to Sky Cinema about it at the Empire magazine film festival, the 27-year-old actor said that the comparison of Trump to Voldemort was certainly not without its merits.

"I sort of think Donald Trump might not be as ideologically pure as Voldemort. My thinking on Trump is that he feels like more of an opportunist - I don't know how much of this stuff he's saying he actually really, really believes," said the Horns star.

Adding, "He hides behind the sort of thing; 'Oh I'm just an entertainer'...that comparison is certainly not without its merits."

Radcliffe took to the red carpet for the premiere of his upcoming flick Imperium, in which he will play an undercover FBI Agent, who has to infiltrate a white power group. Interestingly, the heartthrob will be seen sporting a shaved head and spewing racial hatred as he goes undercover in a neo-Nazi organisation.
