Donald Glover will play Simba in the remake of "Lion King".

Disney's new animated movie will be directed by Jon Favreau, who took to Twitter to announce that the 33-year-old actor will play the king of Pride Lands jungle.

"I just can't wait to be king. #Simba," wrote Favreau, along side Donald's photo.

"The Jungle Book" helmer also declared that James Earl Jones will reprise his role as Mufasa, the beloved father character, he voiced in the 1994 animated original.

He tweeted Jones' photo which he captioned as, "Looking forward to working with this legend. #Mufasa" Glover is currently filming the young Han Solo Star Wars spin-off in which he plays Lando Calrissian.

Also, Jones reprised his voice work as Darth Vader in December's "Star Wars: A Rogue One Story".
