Jacqueline Fernandez and Badshah's song 'Genda Phool' has been under the scanner for not giving credit to the original composer Ratan Kahar. Both Jacqueline and Badshah were questioned on the same. While Badshah did state that he would love to help the composer but couldn't find his name on the original song, Jacqueline totally ignored the controversy and went ahead, sharing videos of other people dancing on the song, one being Himanshi Khurrana.

The ex-Bigg Boss contestant and Asim Riaz's girlfriend, Himanshi Khurrana wore a saree and elegantly danced on 'Genda Phool', acing it even better than Jacqueline herself in some places. Jacqueline, who is yet to respond around the controversy of the song, rather shared the video and called Himanshi 'hot' during quarantine.

Here's the video:

"Boroloker bitilo, lomba lomba chul, Emon mathay bnedhe debo lal genda phool (The rich man's daughter has long hair, I want to tie a marigold on it)," which happens to be the hookline of 'Genda Phool', was picked up from Ratan Kahar's Bengali folk song which was composed in the 1970s. The composer did not receive credit for the same and is too poor to fight a case in court. Thus netizens came out in his support.

"I wrote the song Boroloker Bitilo. The music, the words, everything is mine. Now, if people are dishonest, what can I do? I am extremely poor. Many people have taken my songs, but have not given me credit. They can't write their own songs. They used my songs as their own. I live in a hut. I write songs of the soil. I don't have the financial strength to drag them to court," he told a Bengali website, only to hear from Badshah that his name was never in credits for any of the songs he came across. Later in an interview with PTI, Kahar again slammed Badshah and said, "The lyrics of this song were written by me and music composition was also mine. But I never got any recognition for the song and it pains me a lot. I am Ratan Kahar, who never got recognised for the song. You judge what kind of justice is that."
