Why the change?

The last season was hosted by Arjun Kapoor, who opted out this time as he is busy with his film commitments. It is learnt that the actor will be prepping for Dibakar Bannerjee’s next and there were date issues.

Venue shifted!

Not only the host, even the location is being shifted. This time, from Argentina — where it was shot last year — to Spain. Says a source, “The original Fear Factor is shot in four countries — Malaysia, South Africa, Argentina and Spain. Several seasons of KKK have already been shot in South Africa. This time, they wanted to explore a fresh location and zeroed in on Spain, which is picturesque. Also, it was logistically difficult to shoot in Argentina as the distances between locations were wide and therefore, a lot of time got wasted in travelling.”

Right up Rohit’s alley...

As for getting Rohit back as the host, the source says, stunts are right up the filmmaker’s ally and he is familiar with the concept. “The shooting for the show begins somewhere in March-end or April. Though Rohit will begin the shoot of his next directorial, Golmaal Again in March, and is known to wrap up his films in a start-to-finish schedule, there is a 30-day window in between, which they are trying to fit in for the KKK shoot.”
