Music composer duo Anand-Milind are back in action after a long hiatus of over six years. They have composed the music for the just released, critically-acclaimed film Yeh Khula Aasman and have got a couple of small films like the bi-lingual Mad and Araajakta (Lawlessness), a hard-hitting film in their kitty. The duo is now looking forward to bagging some films with the big banners.

Says Milind, “Before Yeh Khula Aasman, we had been composing songs but they turned out to be for insignificant films. We also did a couple of albums but they did not get a proper release. Now that Yeh Khula.. has elicited a good response, we are looking forward to scoring for big films.”

It was back in the late eighties that Anand-Milind soared to popularity with their score for the Aamir Khan starrer Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak with all their songs becoming chartbusters. They went on to score some popular songs in subsequent films but gradually vanished from the scene. Recalls Milind, “After 2000 we had a couple of hits with Dulhe Raja and Jaanwar, but after that the trend of using multiple composers in one film started. We didn’t want to be a part of that. Of the 250 films that we have scored, all have been done solely by us and for 150 films we even did the background music. Also, filmmakers like Harmesh Malhotra and Vimal Kumar for whom  we used to compose music stopped making films and the whole scenario changed for us.”
